Our Story

In the ever-evolving landscape of Kashmir's culinary heritage, one name continues to stand out for its timeless taste and enduring legacy—Walnut Fudge House, the newest brand born from a tradition that dates back to 1896.

It all began with Atif's grandfather Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Bhat alias (Ghulam Mohammad Mithai) who started the family's bakery business over a century ago. Back then, the shop quickly became a household name, with its signature walnut fudge and ginger biscuits gaining immense popularity among both locals and tourists. These iconic treats were known not just for their flavor, but for the craftsmanship and care put into every batch.

"Our products were a big hit from the very beginning," recalls the family. "The walnut fudge and ginger biscuits were especially loved, often being taken as gifts for ring ceremonies, family celebrations, and special gatherings."

Through the decades, the business grew and evolved, with family-run shops thriving in key locations such as Hazratbal, Nigeen, and Dalgate. Today, the tradition lives on through multiple branches run by other family members who continue to serve the beloved recipes to loyal customers.

Now, Atif brings a fresh identity to this long-standing heritage with the launch of 'Walnut Fudge House', located near Khyber Hospital Road, Munwarabad, Srinagar. The new brand honors the original recipes while adding a modern touch in presentation and branding.

"This isn't just a shop—it's a tribute to our family's legacy and a way to introduce our traditional flavors to a new generation."

While the name may be new, the taste remains as authentic as ever. Visitors to Walnut Fudge House can expect the same rich, handcrafted fudge and ginger biscuits that made the original bakery a local treasure—now presented in elegant packaging suitable for both daily indulgence and special occasions.

With a deep-rooted history and a promising future, Walnut Fudge House is more than just a sweet shop—it's a symbol of tradition, family, and timeless flavor.
